How much on average would the Stealership charge for a routine 7500 mile service as per the 2007 service log book. It really is just an oil change and oil filter. I really want the dealership stamp in that log. I do my own oil change in between the Ford recommended intervals.
Just write it in your self and staple the reciept to the book. Ford wants 90$+ to do it. Go to international, buy the 19.99$ filter ment for the truck and go get 3 gallons of rotella for another 30 bucks and be done. Takes 10 minutes to change.
$90? $170? My 2nd oil change (scheduled maintenance) @ 7926 miles - oil/filter change, chassis lube (a wash and complimentary bottle of water )., $73.07 including tax. All-Star Ford - Olympia, WA
That is crazy cheap. I buy my oil and filter at Wal Mart and Advance Auto and pay 50 bucks just for that. Did they charge you what they charge the gassers? I know things in New York are more expensive but a $100 less for more work is hard to believe.

Why do you care... you already expect it to be pricy... due to calling them a "stealership"!!!!
Never sure why people slam them like that?
Do you expect them to cost less than doing it yourself... only if they have a special going on to get new customers.
Call them up and ask... instead of asking here. Right here in Kansas City I have many "dealerships" I can call and ask for oil & filter changes on a 6.0L and immediatelt decide if I want to use them or not.
My dealership charges around $80.00 for a complete Motocraft 15W-40 oil change and MC filter. I spend around $100 to do it myself and use Rotella-Syn from Walmart (because I want 100% synthetic)... so for me... the extra $20.00 to do it myself and use synthetic oil is worth it (for me).
However, I use the "dealership" for tranny flushes ($139.00), air filter changes ($59.95) and for alignments.

they dont care about the customer lets get realistic all they want is your money for doing as little as possible. to many bad experiences here in Fl.
Guess you could ride a bike - huh???
There are good ones and there are bad ones... but they are not all "stealserships" as you stated above.
Doing as little as possible and wanting my money is human nature and the sad state of affairs country-wide... if not world-wide.
All I am stating is that you have expressed such "displeasure" with your local dealership by calling them what you did... that you should just do the service yourself or go somewhere else as I believe you will never be happy with them or just looking for them to screw up so you can vent on them. Either way... they will never meet your needs.
Do it yourself and I believe you will be happy in the long wrong.
If you financed thru Ford you can go to the Ford credit log in, go to service intervals and you can enter your maintenance and part numbers into the Ford computer. The Ford dealers will then see what was done at home. That and your receipts will protect your warranty. BBC is correct. Dealerships have a lot more overhead than you realize. Just their monthly software updates can run into the thousands not counting training and property overhead. Does your bank let you live in your house for free and does the Gov. let you go on property taxes because you don't agree with them?
I just had my 7500 done. They gave me a coupon for the first one free when I bought the truck. Receipt showed it would have been $90+ (I forgot the exact amount but less than $100). Sure I could do it myself. But the time to do it, clean up after it, and take the oil to a disposal site (you do do that don't you?) makes it worthwhile to me to pay them to do it.
And yes, they have a tremendous overhead they have to cover with facilities, utilities, service advisors, office personnel, mechanics, etc. that cost is reasonable.
less then 50$ in my driveway and it doesnt take 2 hours and me watching crappy tv in a waiting room.
Not to mention that you KNOW is was done correctly. That is my biggest issue with letting someone else work on my vehicles. People just don't care today. They are looking to get one vehicle out and the next one in. They'll take a chance on something and risk the vehicle coming back, rather than doing it right the first time. I know this isn't the case with every place, but it scares me enough not to use any of them. Some bad apples ruin it for the rest.
