d44 carrier difference???
Does anyone know the exact difference between a 3.92 and up carrier and the lower numbered carrier??? My buddy bought a "thick" 4.88 gear for his gmc d44 front axle but i cant get one for my ford due to the reverse rotation gears. Seems they dont make them for it. I work in a metal fabrication shop and could make a spacer if i knew how thick to make it. I do not want to buy another carrier, locker, or spool. Any knowledgeable answers would be greatly appreciated.
