How do I test the coils using an ohm meter tester? There all out but i'm not sure which resistance to set the meter at?

First of all which meter do you have? 2nd you should only have only ohms setting. What is you actual problem? Which engine ? COP's or 4-tower coil packs? Don't know about the COP's but on the 4-tower you only get resistance in the plug connection for the wireing harness. Maybe someone else will come in with more info.

Resistance checks of COPs are next to worthless most of the time.

All Fixed And Running

Thanks guys, but I got my truck up and running. The coils were fine and tested okay. the spark plugs were fine too except one which I cleaned. Now my truck runs great. I also replaced the timing chain and oil pump. Oh... I own a 2000 F-150 4X4, 5.4L truck.
