Hi all, can anyone help me find a picture of the underside of floor where the cab bolts to the chassis on a 56 F100 as mine is so rusty i think there are some bits missing Thanks KIWI
I don't have pics--but why do you need to see the bottom? Are you taking cab off? I think some P.B.BLASTER would be useful and soak the bolts down for a while then attempt your job. Maybe someone will come along with a floorpan pic. Bill
Thanks for the comments Walford 56. check out my gallery pics,my cab is off and in a welding jig but has been rusty and repaired by POs and there is nothing on the underside of the cab just whats left of the flat floor and i think there should be something to locate/hold a rubber insulater between the cab and chassis? (I got my truck in bits so have never seen how it was or should be )Regards Kiwi
Check pages 18 and 20 in the Dennis Carpenter catalog (section "Cab Replacement"). It's downloadable. It shows details of the mounts and the steel. I can't cut 'n paste it.
If your truck is similar to Bonus Builts, and this is the mount near the break in the floorpan up to the firewall (sort of at the front of the doors), there should be a reinforcing plate on the top side of the floor.
Thanks ALBUQ F1 that was exactly what i needed, Unfortunately for me i now need to buy some more parts!! Better to find out now though. Thanks again this thread has done its job well. Cheers kiwi
