I'm sure I'll get return mail from this guy, but I told him what I thought of his site. I even used clean language. He has WAY too much time on his hands. He doesn't seem very bright either.
This fella has either brain dammage, or more time on his hands than hes worth. The names in that lawsuit report doesn't even sound right. like that kids name... an 11 year old named that? lol....
Well, I hope this guy doesn't live close to me. Since he used a town near me, I decided to check into this. You know how that curiousity works sometime...
1) The Thomasville Times has no records of this story or any alligations/events related. Nor the people's names.
2) Since my cousins' ex-husband is a detective in Thomasville, I asked him - same answer: "Never heard of that before..."
hehe - jealousy over not owning a Ford makes people do wierd things...
Don't they know all they have to do is go buy one - no wait - I don't want someone like that driving a Ford - ruins all of our image...
I agree the site was tasteless and of no value. If you are going to bash Ford, at least present some data. Here's a few sites that do make interesting reading. Cannot vouch for any data presented at those sites though:
The last one is a list of complaints by Ford owners, but there are references to TSBs and Ford programs for specific issues.
If you look at Consumer reports worst used car short list, most of them are from C**Y and D***E. Only one Ford made the list and that was a Ford Windstar. So Ford can't be all that bad. For the best used car short list, there was only one C**Y - and that one was a Geo, and non from D***E. There were 4 Ford products that made the good short list.
Personally I think Ford is a good company, but not perfect. What big comapny is?

Unfortunately, the story is accurate, so are the names,
just check the Atlanta papers archives, it's in there...
and there are two Thomasvilles in Georgia...

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-May-02 AT 04:18 PM (EST)]I did a search and found the article in the Atlanta newspaper. Unfortunately they make you pay if you want to read the whole article. There is a paragragh explaining the story, if you want to check it out the link is below.
It's the 9th story down on this page.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 10-May-02 AT 02:03 AM (EST)]>Canzus - can you tell me where you found the info and which
>Thomasville you found it from?
It didn't say which Thomasville it
was from, but one of the Atlanta
papers had it in the archives...
I'll go back through my history
file to find the info...
Slight pause here...
It was the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A federal jury in Atlanta Thursday awarded $9 million to a Thomas County man whose 11-year-old son burned to death during a 1997 auto accident. The jury found Ford Motor Co.'s design of its 1992 Explorer's fuel tank was defective.
