Being an idiot and trying to remove some adhesive on my dash, I used a product not meant for paint. It removed some of the paint and it now shows the original color, black, underneath. How to repair?
Its an 04 f150 xlt. It is the darker part that surrounds the radio. Also has the air vents in it.
Take a pic of the dash. Really close up and without the flash so that the color is all you see. Take the pic to the parts store and choose the dupli-color that is closest to this. Then all you need to do is prep the area. Maybe a clay bar or some really fine grit sandpaper. Once the surface is prepped you can re-paint.
Iirc, there was a few members that have found the paint codes for the dash and had a next to nearly perfect match...(mixed @a auto paint supply house) I think these guys (and gals) were painting the dash pods that came with the Edge tuner.
Its the darker charcoal grey trim?
I think I have that code on file or saved somewhere...(I think I found it here in the forum)- Let me look...
On Edit: I can only find it listed as "Shadow Grey" which I think maybe wrong maybe the OP has already found the color and made the repair?
