the stats on my truck are : 1997 F-250 Heavy Duty, Regular Cab LWB, 4x4 Off Road, Power Stroke 5 speed manual

In '97 an F250 was an F150 with 7 lugs and heavier springs. An F250 heavy duty was the old body style F250. I bought one new with a 460 in it. It was a good truck. You may want to try the 87-96 F150 and up forum.
thanks guys but mine does not have a steering stabalizer or helper springs
it is the old 94-96/97 body style. and i have seen F-250 HD's that were 95 and 96 models.
It's all very confusing. In the late 1990's you could get an F-250 HD which was the early 90's F-150 body style with heavier frame and axles, and F-250 which was the later F-150 body style, heavier axles with odd 7 lug rims or you could get an F-250 SD, which was the new Super Duty truck.
