Does anyone know if knuckles/outers from a Chevy 3/4 ton D44 front will bolt onto a 78 1/2 ton ford front end? I am trying to convert this axle (no longer under the 1/2 ton) to 8 lug and want to keep the coils spring set up.

The knuckles will bolt up to the 1/2 ton housing, the Ford and Chevy stuff is interchangeable. However, the 3/4 ton spindles won't bolt up to 1/2 ton knuckles.
yeah i figured it wouldn't be that easy but my buddy said he used a chevy axle his buddy had when he broke an axle in his 78 bronco and it worked even tho it was a little different.
If you have all the 3/4 ton outers....knuckles, spindles and hubs.....they will bolt up to the 1/2 ton housing and inner C's. All the inner C's are the same, so any D44 knuckle will bolt up at the ball joints. And, if you were going to stick with 1/2 ton outers, all the 1/2 ton D44 stuff will bolt up, Chevy, Ford, Dodge, or Jeep.
all 8 lugs except the newer metric ones are same pattern, 8x6.5. Only difference at all on stock wheels is the center hole some don't have big enough holes to fit over full floater rear hubs. Most stock ford ones do though, and almost all aftermarket wheels are ok. I converted my old ford (no longer have) to dual wheels using wheels off an old dodge camper, and my buddy has a set of my stock ford wheels on his chevy as we speak.
