if you lost dash and all elec function you might have a Alt problem....are both the light bubbles on your batterys GREEN?? also check to make sure you dont have a lose connection on the back of the ALT. Jump it with another truck and check voltage at the back of the ALT also.

the lights will run off the battery....check all the obvious first then jump the truck off and check for voltage at the post on the alt...

it could be numerous things, but check the voltage on your batteries before you jump it. it should read around 11-12 volts. if not then either your batteries are dead or the alternator. any auto parts store should be able to test them for you.

Start the truck.Once it runs disconnect postive side of battery's
if truck runs its not the alt.If it stalls out then its the alt.I know
this works with gas engines.tell me if Im wrong.

Theres problems with this. 1st he cant get the truck started period. 2nd it sure is a pain to disconnect both batteries when you can check the alt for voltage. 3rd he says he batterys has voltage but still wont start.
