Fuel heater ???

Is the temperature of the fuel heater inside the fuel filter housing a set temp?? And does anybody know what temp that is???? A friend of mine is looking at using a filter & housing assembly on his old mercedes where he uses SVO (straight veggie oil) on, he's thining that might help heat up the oil...

The fuel heater is self regulating and only to prevent fuel gelling or icing.
I don't remember the exact temp, but it is close to freezing.
SVO needs to be a lot warmer than the filter heater could get it.

SVO needs to be 150ish degrees to flow through the stock injectors, and that is a lot hotter that the stock engine will ever get it without serious (serious as in intent to add heat, not serious complicated) modifications.

Here are just a few of the links out there (verified to work as I typed this) that will help sort out the SVO-Straight Vegi Oil or WVO-Waste Vegi Oil issue as in use in modern Diesel engines.

Biodiesel will work just like standard Diesel AKA DinoDiesel.

The first one has heated injectors, pump and what not to run the engine like it was made for SVO and WVO, but will nolonger use standard Diesel fuel.

The others have systems that are more fuel selection friendly.
