I'm talking to a Ford dealership in Dearborne Michigan. He said Ford is set to start production on them about August 11th. They are already taking special orders for the 2008. He was not sure how long it would take them to hit the showrooms. Right now I'm looking for someone high enough in Ford to authorize a true custom order. I need the stability control deleted and if the guy wants to really flex his muscle we may see of one of a kind for 2008 V-10 4.10 limited slip in a 12 passenger van. Otherwise I will get it how they make it with the 5.4 and the 3.73 rear. A posi is easy to install.
I have a friend or two with a tow company that gets cars all the time. I will wait for a low milage V-10 rig to get totaled and then we will do the old swaparoo the first time the 5.4 starts to give trouble. I have time on my side. I'm very patient and will own the van for 15 to 20 years. If it never goes bad I have a nice dry place to store the parts for as long as it will take.
My old 460 will probably get overhaulled and dropped into a 79 F150 for my son. He is hooked on the same truck dad whooed the women in when I was his age.
dont bet on any special orders...if its not in the ordering guide your wasting your time...however, i think there is an employee on this site that works on the assembly line, but i dont think he will be able to swap a v10 and 4.10 into your van
Here is the latest on my van. I just got back from my dealer and I can almost get everything I wanted.
I had to do a decked out cargo to get it but here it is.
2008 760A E350 Cargo
99s 6.8 V10
44T Elect 5 Speed Auto
XC2 LS 4.10
18A Exterior upgrade (chrome grille and bumper)
18.D crew van interior upgrade (cloth captains chairs and cloth second seat)
17W windows all around
924 Privacy glass
43R reverse sensing chrome rear step bumper
525 Speed control
54E Electric telescoping tow mirrors
574 High cap front and rear A/C
585 4 speaker cd player
63D Ext HD 135 Alt
63F HD Aux Battery
64F 16" Aluminum Wheels
536 class II-III-IV tow package
Retail price 36,500
This was the closest I could get to an E350 Club Wagon with the V10 and no roll stability control. I will probably final the order next Thursday.
The walls in the rear most cargo area will be naked and the cieling won't have the A/C ducts. This will be a dream come true after suffering with my old van for so long.
Now, I just have to decide what color.

I don't think so. It is tied directly to the vans engine and brake controls. The function of the RSC isn't the problem. It's physical location is. It is mounted on the floor under the passenger seat. Ford forbids the unit to be relocated and the van modifiers can not defy Ford for liability reasons for one. That area of the floor needs to be cut away as part of the modification process to accomodate my wheelchair.
It seems like Ford is discounting the new 08s pretty heavily already. If only I could make up my mind between the 08 Ford E-350 with the 6.0L in it and the 08 Chevy 2500HD with the duracrap and a utility bed on it. The van is only about $8,000 more than the truck. I need to make up my mind soon though, I'm killing my '05 E-150 with my pressure washing trailer. If you go to AlertSteamCleaning.Com and look under my photo section then you'll see why I need the bigger van or truck.
sounds like u r getting everything u want and ac ducts and walls could be added later...talk to the dealer before u buy and see if he could give u a good discount on the parts or look for a wrecked club wagon
My van came with a 7.3. That thing never passed anything that didn't pull over and stop for me to inch by. I never realized how unsafe my van was until i put the 460 in it and could actually go the speed limit. At 45-50 it didn't seem to bad. At 65+ it's a white knuckle death run.
I'm curious about this. My 02 7.3 tows a 14,000 toy hauler all over the US with no trouble. Only mods are a larger tranny cooler, transgo shift kit and a towing program from DP tuners. I have a decent amount of power.
I just bought an '07 E-350 today and got the 0% financing.
The dealer had '08's in stock (I saw them) but there are no incentives and the price has been raised.
If you go to Commtruck.Ford.Com and go to the build your own van page then you'll see all the incentives on the 08s. You can even get a special discount if you order it from CarsDirect.Com also.
That's exactly what I have been doing. The only real one is the 500.00 AQHA one and I don't have a quarter horse. The others are for helping you pay off a lease early. I have never recieved any of the direct mail ones. I'm getting mine at invoice price so the couple bucks off at the mail order outfit isn't even close. I have yet to find anyone willing to give up any of the holdback money the dealer gets after the sale from Ford. I'm thinking we won't be seeing any real incentives on an 08 E350 until clearance time next year.
There will be incentives on the 08s before to long. Look at how popular the 08 F-Series trucks were when they 1st came out. Dealers were making a huge profit on them. Now they have $3,000 cash off or special financiing rates on them.
