Hi I have a 1994 f150 with a three inch body lift and a 2 inch front end lift. I was just given a set of rims a tires for free i am haveing really bad tire rub on the radius arms when i make turns like in to drive ways a such. The tires are goodyear mt/r the size is lt315/75r16 anyone know how to stop the rubbing?
Remeber the old story about the guy that went to the doctor and said " hey doc, it hurts really bad when I do this", and the doctor told him to stop doing that?
Same rules apply here. Stop turning so sharp and the tires won't rub. You can run the limit stops out to reduce the rubbing, but it will reduce the turning radius also. This is a common problem when the wrong offset wheel is used with such a tall tire.
trade them out for a set of 285/75/16s with someone on this board
Regretfully my 98 with a 4" lift would have the same problem with my 16 rims. A 305/70/16 rubs slightly. My 17 street rims have more offset and could run that size. Your only chance with those is possibly a spacer to increase the backspace, which also has drawbacks.
