Oil Pressure Sending Unit

I am trying to locate my oil pressure sending unit. I have a 1978 F150 4x4 with a 400 engine. I would appreciate any help. I am experiencing sporadic low oil pressure and would like to check the sending unit first.

Oil Pressure Sending Unit

I had the same problem in my '94 and it turned from sporadic to pretty much constant low pressure really quick so be careful. My pump had gone dead after 117,000 miles.

Oil Pressure Sending Unit

MonkeyBoy, The oil pressure sending unit is located on the very rear of the block behind the intake manifold and to the right a bit, as you would be looking at the engine from the front. It will have a single wire hooked to it.
