Instrument Cluster Lights
Hello, I was hoping someone can give me some guidance on a problem I am having with my instrument panel. When I first purchased the truck a few years ago, the lights on the instrument panel came on when I pulled out the headlight switch. I replaced the factory AM radio and now the gauges work fine but the lights no longer come on. I have checked the fuses by the emergency brake and they are fine. Can someone give me another direction to try? Im good at most things mechanical but electronics is another story.

did you use the stock wires to wire up your new radio? if so i wonder if instead fo splicing into the normal hot wire if you hooked into your factory radio light wire and its dralwing juice from the interior lights. I know i did that on my 93 and whenever you turn the dimmer up and down the radio would kick on and off.. also did you twist your dimmer switch whole way down by accndent? you knwo you can pull it out and in for the parkign lights and headlights bt you can twist it to right and left if you twist to the right the dash lights will dim and when to the left they will get brighter. if none of them work id replace your headlight switch cause when they go bad they do that kidn of weird stuff.
