My wife recently bought a 1988 F350 duallie with a 1997 7.3L Powerstroke
diesel engine. The truck was originally a 2WD but has been changed to
4WD(also). We recently had a flat and learned that the spare does not fit the
front hub. The spare has a 4.75" hub hole but the front hub is larger than
that. I think it is about 4.94". Can anyone help me by Identifying the Year of
the front axle? It has a 6.5" bolt circle for the lug nuts, 8 lug. We deperately
need a spare for the front. The local Ford dealer was no help at all.
I would guess the donar was a 97 for all of the parts. I believe all 2000+ 3/4 ton trucks have the same bolt pattern, at least the set I have here fit ford and chevys, probably dodge too if I looked it up. The set I have here have an opening just over 5".
