I took the truck out today to see if I could do better than 11mpg that I got before I rebuilt the carb and set timing. Filled the tank til it stopped once, didnt pump more. Took it out, drove 60 miles. Stopped to get gas and took 2.8 gallons to fill it to the first stop. By my math that comes out to about 21mpg. This a decent rough estimate? I'm just having a hard time believing I almost doubled my mpg! When I got 11mpg it was all highway miles as well and trying to keep as light of a foot as possible. Truck is a 85 f150 300 c4 with no idea on the gears.

Sounds good, but that's alot better mileage than an automatic 300 got when new.
The sample size is too small to be trusted much...between being just 60 miles, and assuming the fill came to the same spot. At least it's in the right direction!
