I was out camping this past weekend/week and saw an Ex with 7 lugs!?!? What year would have come with a 7 lug setup? ... 99? Couldn't tell if it was a PSD or V10 as he was only there for one night...but it was "interesting" none-the-less. Kinda looked like the E250/E350 wheels you see with 7 lugs showing...was that only a wheel cover or something?...different and never seen by me before...
I've seen F250's with 7 lugs but NEVER and Ex...thought I'd ask.
Nope .It was a wheel cover. To my knowledge,Ford has only used 4,5,6 and 8 lug patterns for quite a while. The 7 on the wheel cover was just used for symetry.

Aint no way a PSD or a V10 would be caught dead with 7 lugs...it had to be a 5.4L (cough*coughgassercough*cough)
Yeah them 7 lug hubcaps will get ya every time. I had seen em before but never paid no attn that there was only 7 lugs on there....then buddy brought a truck home he bought and I was teasing him that he only had 7 lugs, neither of us knew it was only the hub cap at the time. Anyhow i'm sure those wheel covers will fit most ford steelies so if someone actually liked em enough to want to put em on (yuck!)
i saw a pick-up with seven lugs this weekend, i never heard of such a thing before. i looked close enough i would have bet they were not hubcaps. even after reading this i am haveing trouble believing my eyes have gotten this bad.
97-up 'light duty' F250 trucks were true 7 lugs. They only lasted a couple years.
WOW: thanks you saved my making a trip to the eye doctor (or the shrink), i though they looked strange and looked real close, even pointed them out to a friend.
Yeah...those were the 250's with the F150 body. (The new body style...well...the one before this latest one) They continued to make them until...I don't know when...they had a 7-lug semi-floating rear axle. They ended up calling them F-150s with the "Payload Package".
If anyones really interested i have a 04 or 05 F250 XLT here at work with the 7 lug caps i can take a picture, pop the cap and show the 8 lugs under it.
