lsrx101, help! Low side pressure.

My AC compressor bearing burnt up, so I replaced the compressor. When my buddy vacuum'd it down and charged it up, the low side pressure was really high, around 100. He said I needed to change the accumulator and liquid line. So, I just did. Now I can't even get 1/8th of 1 can to go into the system. I am connected on the low side valve. I vacuum'd it down for about 10 minutes prior. What should I try next? The compressor cycles every couple seconds for just a few seconds. THANKS.

Was the low side that high with the compressor running? If it was not running and the ambient temp was hot (along with the engine) 100 psi isn't too high.
Knowing the Year and model will help immensely

Are you charging into a hard vacuum? Are you charging through a manifold gauge set, or a can with a hose attached? Is this a converted R-12 system?
You need to charge into a vacuum. Sometimes those cans with cheap charging hoses don't depress the valve in the service port, especialy if it's a converted system with the cheap aluminum adaptors.

If you are charging into a vacuum and you know the service port is opening, you will need to jumper the cycling switch connector to make the compressor run. It has to be running for the system to draw the refrigerant in.

Did you add a few ounces of oil to replace what was lost in the old compressor and accumulator? This is very important. You'll need about 4-6 ounces.

Edit: Ok, I see that you pulled a vacuum on the system. I missed it the first time I read your post. Sorry.
