System check???

System check???
Is there any way, other than running to the garage and hooking it up to the computer, to check the reason why I'm getting a Check Engine Light?? I get the light, and when I hit the gas, the truck hesitates, then jumps. Any suggestions?

Go to AutoZone, and have them retreive the code, it's free.

Went to Auto Zone, Got codes "33" and "63"
33 is EGR Sensor bad
63 is Throttle Position Sensor bad
Replaced both for a total of $45
Everything works fine now!!! Thanks alot for the AutoZone tip!!
