I'm trying to get this done before 3 p.m. this afternoon. Flushing and refilling cooling system. Which one of these is my drain plug and what kind of tool do I need to get it out? In bottom left of pic that is a little bit of my oil filter you see.
Thanks!
This is my drain plug for the Rad. right? Can I also disconnect the hose that comes from the plastic container where it connects on the bottom of the lower Rad hose for more drainage?
I think the block drains were a 5/16 square socket. I think it's called a drum socket or something. It's been a long time since I bought mine. See if a 3/8 drive ratchet fits it. If not then it's probably the 5/16. That should be the block drain though. Usually there is one on each side. I've seen some that don't though. It is a good idea to drain from there if you can. You'll get a lot more out. Still drain what's left in the radiator though. Put a little teflon thread sealer on the threads of that plug when you have it out too.
Sears had a set of those square sockets last time I looked. I'm sure napa would too.
It's the top plug in your 1st picture. USe a ratchet with an extension, the square drive is all you need (no socket). BTW: there is another one on the other side of the block but the starter is in the way.

The next picture is your radiator drain.
Yes I found the one over the starte and of course it is regular bolt. It is virtually impossible to get to without removing the starter though!
