Wheel Studs
i did a search on this topic but didn't get an answer to my question.
i am in the middle of replacing my rotors (81 F150). i pounded the studs out which held the hub body and rotor together. now i have new rotors and tried to pound studs back thru the rotors and thru the hub body but i cant get the head of the stud to seat on the back of the rotor therefore the hub body and rotor are not snug together.
can i install it as is and let the lug nuts do the rest of the work by cinching it all up or will the hub and rotor continue to rattle together.
i cant see the lug nuts pulling them together as i was beatin on em with a 5lb sledge. warped my new rotor?!

WHOA! Studs MUST be pressed in, autoparts stores with a machine shop can do this. Pounding them in won't work, and may damage the rotors, and the studs, too. NEW studs are also required, once old studs are removed, they can't be used again.
