I would use it on a showcar with little road time.
Too much to risk, IMO.
It looks cool, but plastic and hot gear oil?
Too much leaky.

ive seen those...they advertise them as "strong as steel"...which might be true tensile strength wise... but then again, steel dents, plastic shatters

You've got plastic cam covers that are exposed to even hotter oil.

I'm sure they will stain to where you can't see them after a bit. I would get a finned aluminum one that will help dissipate heat or one like from T/A that supports the retaining caps in the center section if I was going to change mine.

I had one of these clear diff covers on my Ranger once. I thought it would be cool to see the gears and the oil, and it was for a while, and then one fateful day I drove my truck through the trails in Moab and wouldn't ya know, hot oil, 100 degree weather, and big rocks. Yup you guessed it, rolled back hit a rock and POW!!!!!!, that sucker was history. I am just glad I listened to the voices in my head and brought along the stock diff cover, so I could drive it home. I had to go back to camp and go to town to get more oil so I could drive it out. I told myself never again will I buy one of those again. Strong as steel maybe, on a nice cool day with no rocks around, but not in Moab.

dude that dog is messed up!! and id have to agree, itll stain after like...a couple months im sure, besides...how often are you down there looking at your diff? also you know people are going to be like, "oh look! that guy has a clear diff, let me get as close as i can on the freeway to look at....CRASH" and you get rearended by someone gawking at your clear dif cover, it just seems like an accident waiting to happen...but its cool none-the-less!!!
