99 driveline vibration
hi all i have a 99 f-150 4x4 auto. i have a vibration beetween 30 and 60 mph but it only vibrates when im on the gas when i let off the gas it goes away completly ,i already replaced the tranny mount, it had alittle bit of play in it , any info would be greatly appreciated.

most likely cause would be a u-joint on the drivesahft. it only happens when your on the throttle because you change the angle that the joint spins around at. this then causes the vibration everytime the joint hits the flat spot or binds. pull the drive shaft and check to see if all joints move freely in all directions.

had the same problem when i changed my gears. I had a small dent towards the rear of the drive shaft and now since its spinner faster I had a crazy vibration. Took it out and sure enough it was the driveshaft. Take it in to a shop and have them rebalance it.

thanks for the help everyone for the good advice, while i was under there today putting u joints in it today i discovered the transfercase ot tranny bolts were loose so i tightened them and my vibration isss gone so thanks for all the good advice,this is the best site on the net for all my ford truck needs.
