Glenn, we may even be related as there were Crocketts in my family. All I know is that my great-grandmother on my mother's side was married to a man named Bob Crockett, who was descended from Davy Crockett...

If you have an idea of where he came from you can check with the county and see if there are records of deeds to land, the newspaper will probably have news about births, joining the military and deaths. Maybe you will get lucky and come across a article on a reunion that will list names.
