Steering column W/ automatic shift
I have been reading posts and searching the archives here for a few months now and have gotten a lot of great info for rebuilding my 52 F1.
I am going to run an automatic trans so I placed a want ad in the classifieds for a 56 steering column w/ automatic shift but I haven't gotten any responses. People probably don't check the want ads too often. Are the columns the same 1956 thru 1960?
If any body has one they would like to part with give me a shout.

Donny, I have a auto shift column in my '56 F100 that I wont be using...... the only problem is, its going to be in the truck for a while yet. (maybe 1/2 a year.) I dont know what your time table is, but if that can work for you, you could have the one in my truck.

I don't know why I didn't think of looking at Vintage ford. Their warehouse is only about a mile down the street from where I work. They didn't have the column but i did find an emergency brake handle I had been looking for.
I called Bobco and he has one automatic column left that has already been modified to fit mustang II or other steering. I'll get that Friday.
That is a very generous offer fiddysixf. I need to have one sooner than that so I can get everything mocked up before I blow it apart again.

I got the adapter from Hot Heads in North Carolina. http://www.hothemiheads.com/index.html You can also get adapters from Wilcap to mate almost any engine to any trans. http://www.wilcap.com/webdoc8.html
I picked the 700r4 because I wanted the overdrive for hiway cruising. they are readily available and not to expensive. I got mine at Pic a Part and I'll have it gone through before i'm done.
