73-79 cd player installation

i want to install a new cd player in my 78 ford f150, and was wondering has anyone installed a new style cd player in the original radio location and have it look original, I am going to try and figure a way but i was wondering if anyone has already tackled this task before

leave the stock one alone and go to LMC truck parts. They make a replacement head liner that has a slot for a cd player. Looks pretty sweet.

ha i've been in ur position, ok what color is ur intieror? and do u want the original radio in there? and what kind of deck is it? if its an dvd its a lil more tricky then doin the otehr way, i put a pioneer deck in my 78 f150. u get the intiero matching paint from lmc and u make a mount for ur deck that goes where ur stock deck is, when u pull ur stock deck out theres a small quare hole and steel plates blocking the sides. u take a either air die grinder with a cutting dick or a drimel or a jigsaw and u cut out the height and width or ur deck on the seat plates and then u just do a regular instal but u ahve to build a mount, i used 1/4" puck board and cit a mount and it worked awsome. looked stock. if u want pictures let me know
