While I was looking through pictures of '80's trucks, I noticed there is some sort of clock above the radio in the 3 rectangles like where the "idiot" lights are located in the dash. I was wondering where I can get one of those, other than the junkyard.

Oh yea. this is my first post in this section because I just bought an '85 F350 diesel, not XLT.
Got mine on eBay. Be sure to get the short wiring harness that connects between the clock and the dash harness near the glove box, too. That makes it "plug 'n' play".
FYI - It will also give the the date and you can use in it a elapsed time mode as well.
These were pretty popular and available on all trim levels so you should have no trouble finding a good working unit. Junkyards / recyclers / Ebay or Craigslist.
