fuel problem/tranny?

I have a 01 F350 cc v-10 w/58,000 mi. While driving loaded or unloaded the truck seems to chug but only when I am running about 1600 rpms and give it heavy gas. At no other time does it do this. Has anyone else had this problem? It seems to happen in 3rd gear and overdrive? I just changed my fuel filter so I don't think it is a fuel problem. Could it be the start of a tranny problem? Thanks for any help.

I think you are just lugging the motor too much... below 1900 rpm the motor is not producing enough HP and torque to sustain much load and the 4R100 is not real fast on the lock unlock of the torque converter...so if you stab the throttle real hard and fast the torque converter will still be locked as the motor tries to spin up and it will stumble and hesitate trying to overcome the OD and locked converter.... try a different technique.... pay attention to the power and speed needs and when you need to get on the gas hard...use your right index finger on the stem mounted button just before your right foot.... you will be amazed at the results in drivability....wink!
