Removing wipers

How exactly does one go about removing the wiper? I need to rotate mine slightly, as it sits too high on the windsheild, then when at the vertical position goes off the side a little bit.

Thanks.

You might try a shorter set of wipers Zach. If yours is the hook or candy cane type, there's a tiny little lever in the wiper itself that you depress and slide the wiper toward the windsheild.

Sorry...my bad.

I'm not looking to remove the wipers, been there done that quite a few times.

It's the arms themselves that attach to the wiper motors and hold the blades that I'm looking to remove.

Zach, the wiper arm sits on a splined shaft, and if you look at the base of the wiper arm, there should be a little tab that you just slide one way or another. I believe you must have your wipers extended off of the windshield to do this also, otherwise it wont unlock.

Alright...going outside to try it.

Thank you Peter my good sir, worked flawlessly.

Yes, you must put the wipers up at their extended "maintenance position" (my term, copyright 2007), then grab this small tab at the bottom (hope you have small fingers), pop it out and hold it out (not easy), then pull it up and off. That was actually difficult, because it feels like you're gonna break something when you're pulling up. Then it pops off, and you try and line it up nicely.

Works great and looks great now. Thanks!

Nice adustment Zach. You've got the wipers sitting a little lower on the windsheild and less visible when in the OPSO 'Opereating Position, Switched Off' mode, hee hee.

Thank you thank you. I guess when my truck was repainted they removed the wipers (there was blue paint on top of the toothed wheel below the wiper arm) and just shoved them back on instead of properly lining them up.

They actually sit horizontal at the black part of the windsheild at the bottom, and vertical when in the fully extended about to go back down position.
