Brandon ran in to him recently. Alan is now the head IT guy for the city and is doing OK according to Brandon.

Good to hear. Alan sent me the extra sending unit I used on my rear diff for free! What I remember is a lot of Explorers used the 42 pin connector. I did get mine at a Lincoln dealership though.

Explorers and Tourus.. I found them everywere at the junk yard.. F150's.. Rangers.. The explorers had the longest pig tails.. Also grab two sets. you will need the pins. I got 2 sets of 42pin connectors for $5.00 total.. And a pocket full of fuses..

Thanks to Andy for this for sure. I used it as a model for mine. And i made a UVCH tester also. Same concept but with UVCH connectors.

Note.. Have to check the plugs real good. I had to drill out the plug and add a connector. The explorer had one pin less. Was easy to add another pin after drilling out the connector.

Is the wiring at this connector the same for all superduty trucks from 99-03 with the 7.3? I can't seem to find this pin diagram in my cd and I want to make sure that the injector wires are in the same location. I would think they are.

It allows you to turn the injectors off one by one as you drive to diagnose a bad injector.

Super Job and Info Andy.. I made one of these.. It was a fun project. And I thought about measuring the Glow plugs and injectors OHMs. What a pain laying on your stomach to find and touch those little pins. Pain in the **** getting in that plug with the gauge probes. So i took your idea, Same concept, And conjured up another project. More tools for the tool box.. Thanks Andy.

danskool, when you said you had to drill the connector out, what did you mean. The connector that I have seems to have 2 of the pin holes covered. It looks like I can drill into the back of the connector and punch into the connector for 2 pins. Is this what you did? Thanks
