ignition switch/dist74 f250
what color wire from the ignition switch can i run to the distributor. i have a proform hei distributor which requires only one wire. there are no connections under the hood for the ignition module, so i was wondering how else can i hook the dist. up? im thinking of running a wire directly from the ignition switch, just dont know which wire. right now, i have a wire running from the fuse box to get it running, but i dont want a fuse to blow and my truck to shut off...the truck is a 74 f250, but has a 79 f150 chassis so therefore, the wiring is unknown, either a 74 or a 79. the steering column and t/s switch is a 79. but the rest is unknown... any info will help. thanks.

If you want to leave it hooked where you have it in the fuse box, but not use the fuse, take the fuse out and measure which side of the fuse has power. If you hook the dist to this side of the fuse, then the dist will not quit if the fuse blows.
I don't have a schematic of the 74 wiring, but if you find a red/green on the ignition switch, then that should be the correct wire to use.
