Looking to get some decent floor mats. Ive got the black interior.
Having a hard time choosing black or grey matts.
Black will match the carpet, but will show the dirt, dust off your shoes more than the grey. Not sure the grey is gonna look ok.
Anybody go with a grey matt over their black carpet? Got Pictures?
Thanks
I bought the black WeatherTech mats and I do have the black carpet. It does show dirt very easy but the WeatherTech mats from Moss Motors which advertise on this site are VERY nice and mold perfectly to the floor. I couldn't decide between the grey and black also but I figured that the black would go with the inside a little better. Good luck with your choice.
I bought some black rubber mates from walmart for my 06 they work well and hold a ton of dirt and mud. But the rest of the carpet in my lariat is not so hot. I just went ahead and ordered new flooring From ford. I did a pretty good job trashing the carpet in a truck thats only 9 months old.

I put black matts over my grey carpet, shows everything. i have the carpet matts not the rubber and i'm still trying to find a good way to clean them. Rubber was so easy before, just wash them off and they are good.
I think im gonna go with the plastic/rubber mats as I dont see the purpose in carpeted mats over carpet, I will still have to scrub/shampoo them to keep them looking decent and clean. Thus whats the point?
Anyway I had the Husky liners in my old truck with the raised lip around the bottom edges, they had a diamond plate look. They held up pretty good but in the winter would load up full of water from the snow (especially the drivers side). I would then have to pull the mat over to the door and press down on the edge of the mat so the water would run out.
Now since i used that truck for snowplowing Im guessing that I may have had a bit more snow from the shoes than the normal folk just using their truck in the winter.
Anyway I liked the idea that the water was getting trapped but I didnt really like the idea of having to dump the mat all the time either.
I see that the weathertech mats already dump out the side of the truck but dont reallly clear the threshold, has anyone had trouble with the water running back onto the carpet instead of going out the door?
Well i guess i could say i got the best of both world factory gray carpet underneather the black rubber ford mats over top i like the black shows the dirt but i wash them when i wash the truck i also wash the carpet mats no biggie just let them dry good as new

I guess we truck owners are pretty darn savy to our environment, in which we drive our trucks.
If the surrounding dirt is red, then maybe a redfire truck with tan interior would do. In the Northwest, a green truck and black interior is good.
I live in the desert southwest. I Have a Smokestone truck with light tan interior. I can go several days without seeing dust on my truck with one eye closed. And when I get a bit of sand or desert dust inside my truck I can sleep at night untill I can get it cleaned out. Black sucks in the desert. For more than one reason. But I see a lot of black trucks here! Just don't make sense to me.
I have tan mats over my tan carpet mats.

You wonder what marketing data led to the decision to push black trucks in that environment. My wife got this black truck because it had the features that we wanted, color be damned. Personally I like red trucks because I figure they're easier to see in all weather conditions.
As for floor mats, we have those trim-to-fit tan (matches interior) ones from walmarts. For what they're doing, I can't justify spending a lot of $$ on nice, made-to-order branded ones, but I understand someone who does like them.
