I need a nice rack
I need a strong roof rack for my crew cab.
Something that can carry a 37inch spare, gear, kayaks, etc.
I looked online briefly and found nothing.
Does anyone have a nice roof rack?
And how did you mount it?
I'm think I'm going to have to make my own to be happy with it.

Super Steve,
Probably going to have to be custom built because it will be a bolt on as there are no rain gutters on the SD. Since you want to carry a large spare tire up there the rack mounting plates will have to be large and through bolted with backing plates to carry the load and keep the rack attached to the truck.

Maybe you could try something like this, not sure who makes it but I saved this pic because I thought I may do the same in the future.

That one is actually pretty cool looking. I don't know if it is long enough to support a long kayak though.
