Finding a spare tire with a matching wheel on these trucks is like finding the cabin air filter.

Now if you want start posting some pics of the window sticker MAYBE I'll start believing, this whole thread is BUNK!

OK, so we now have at least 1 other truck that did come with the optional wheel as a spare, belonging to member KPHN.

So, it is possible.

 

I did not order the spare it came on the truck & was on the build sheet.
It is kind of usless, as ford said I could not incorperate into my tire rotation because due to wear on the tires the spare would have larger diamiter & would cause problems on the drive line because the truck is 4wd & has positraction.
That is the ford engeners word.

If you rotated every 5000 miles and rotated your spare to a front wheel you wouldn't have a problem with this. The front differntial does not have limited slip.

Oh....positraction is a Chevrolet name for a limited slip differential. You won't find a Ford coming from the factory with "positraction".

My 07 Lariat also came with (ordered) 20" Goodyears and an 18" spare Continental

I'm still waiting for the Police to conclude their investigation. The security tapes do not cover my truck the entire time it was at the dealership. Right now, it's my word against theirs even though I have a window sticker that clearly shows an optional extra Harley Rim and tire.

I'll let you know what happens.

He's not wrong, you are..and you have missed the entire reason for this thread. This thread has to do with the OPTIONAL Harley spare that was stolen. This thread has NOTHING to do with the styled wheels used on other models.


Most of the mag style and styled steel wheels come with a matching spare. Ford has offered styled steel wheels on F Series trucks since 1977. Every Ford truck I've purchased new since 1979 has had a spare that matched the styled wheels. New trucks purchased by myself with styled wheels: 1979 Lariat; 1988 Lariat; 1992 Lariat; 2004 LARIAT.


The Harley-Davidson trucks DO NOT COME with a matching spare. It is OPTIONAL. The original thread starter claims his OPTIONAL Harley spare, that HE PAID EXTRA FOR, was stolen.
