I need to Change my Headlight bulbs on my 2006 F350. What is the easiest way to do this? Take the whole headlight assembly out and the swithc bulbs or try and reach from behind to do it. What do I need to remove the assembly. Thanks for the help. Any suggestions on bulbs?
Thanks
Replacing headlamp bulbs (aerodynamic)
1. Make sure that the headlamp control is in the OFF position and open
the hood.
2. Remove the four screws from the
top and bottom front of the
headlamp assembly.
3. Press the retaining clip at the top
of the headlamp assembly while
pulling the assembly straight out.
If removing the lamp is difficult,
removing the four screws along
the top of the grill will help
provide more clearance.
4. Disconnect the electrical
connector by squeezing the release
tab and pushing the connector
forward and then pulling it
rearward.
5. Remove the bulb assembly by
turning it counterclockwise and
pulling it straight out.
You should be able to take the passengers side out w/o taking the head light out. You have to take it ou on the drivers side as there is no room for your and.
If its the sealed beam type, like on an XL model, get the 55w GE Halogen 'HO' bulbs (red box & $10/each @ Wal-mart). Replaces the dim factory GE Halogen 35w ones. These trucks take the bigger of the 2 sealed beams available.
If its the one behind the lenses, like the Lariat model, get the GE NightHawk Halogens ($28/pkg 2 @ Wal-mart).
These were the brightest in each catagory. I read somewhere that they both spanked the Sylvania SilverStar.
