Auto trans

I need to change my auto trans fluid on my 90 and can't find out how much tranny fluid I need. I don't have an owners manual and the HAYNES manual doesn't specify.

There are other posts on the subject, perhaps on of the guys here will give you a like. I believe it takes 11 or 12 quarts.

The problem is that it is impossible to drain all the atf w/o tranny removing. 3-5 quarts stais inside the tranny and if U drop pan to replace filter less then 9 quarts leak out. Much ATF slowly leaks out of tranny cooler and radiator.....

Thanks, I'll just get 6-7 quarts and go from there.

Get 3 gallons of fluid, hook a couple of 4 foot long clear hoses to the cooler lines by the radiator and put the other end in a deep pan, start engine for 30 seconds and pump fluid out till it spits. Drop pan, remove remainder, change filter, replace pan with new gasket. Fill through dip stick with 2 gallons. Start and let run for 20 to 30 seconds. Begin filling slowly, constantly checking. It should take 12 to 13 quarts.

That would probably be the least messy way and would get all the fluid out. THanks
