Oldhawkins, it's great to have you on board with FTE! I have a question for you.....
I am doing a frame-off restoration of my 77 F150 2wd truck and I am adding a few power adders to my 302 engine during the process. I replaced the 2bbl carb and intake with 4bbl Holly carb and a Weiand dual-plane aluminum intake manifold. My question is what part of the carb linkage do I attach the tranny kick-down rod? Is there a way to check if the kick-down is engaging correctly or is properly adjusted, since I changed the location slightly to where it was originally attached?
The kick down linkage on these trucks attached to the throttle linkage via special bracket on the right side of the carb, now they make adaptors and such for things as this to bolt up to certain carbs, when u start modifying stuff to "make it work" is where u run into headaches...The kickdown linkage must be in line with the throttle linkage and be free to rotate on its axis and must not bind or interfere with hoses ,wiring ect..
if memory serves me, the end of the kickdown linkage has a threaded adjustment....
Dennis, Im not trying to take away from the forum at all,if u will note, i said i would be happy to answer questions here, But i am also available at my home email to chat at a safe and more personal level as well. No offence!

U definately have a wiring issue, unfortunately this is hard to diagnose exactly but i would start by checking the simple things first,ie.. check all the light bulbs that none are burned out, check the wiring to each light and make sure the right wire goes to the right place, u can trouble shoot with a test light and a buddy. check for wiring splices from previous wiring problems. check also the wiring at the switch..very likely the switch could be bad or could have a bad ground...I know it sounds like a lot but u have to start somewhere right? m
I just had my tranny rebuilt and put back in but thats as far as it made it at that shop! Can you help me get it to go through the gears right.....AT C6 77-f150 4x4
