I have a 97' F250 with the 7.5 and I was looking for some headers and what I found was 2 of them one air injection and one not and they were both my year how can I tell witch ones I need? thanks
Look at your current exhaust manifolds and see if you have any A.I.R. tubes to them, also make sure the headers (if smog check is an issue) are certified for your State/region/etc...i/e, here in Ca., even if the headers were to have the necessay smog tubes on them, unless they were "CARB" certified, they would still be illegal to run.
smog ha ha ha I live in Wyoming there are most likly more people in your neighbor hood than in my whole state. There are not any restrictions on any thing here its great. Thanks and would a heat wrap, or different name but same result of should lower my motor temp.? thanks
You talking about wrapping the headers? Coolant temp wouldn't be affected, but it would help with underhood temps, just be aware, some manufacturers void the header warranty if wrapped.
Well, you're current exhaust manifolds will allow less heat transfer than headers will, the wrap does work, but don't expect it to be "cooler" than your current setup.
alright thanks I guess I am just going cheap with it and find out the size of the pipe after my cat and just unbolt my stock muffler and put a glass pack or something on it to make it sound good and loud. The other thing I supose I am going to ask dose anyone know the size of the cat exit pipe is off the tops of their heads. Thanks again
