Does it actually do anything..... My buddy has an SS camaro and there are rippled intake parts and on his forums they suggest going to a hardware store and getting smooth bellows tubing and it does the same thing....Would that work with what these do?
To be quite honest, it won't make a noticeable difference. You may see a small 3-4hp gain on a piece of paper (dyno), however the only difference you might feel is your brain telling your butt that it is accelerating faster than what it actually is. If you are running a stock tune, then you would be better off pulling the elbow and the red nylon pressure line off of the wastegate actuator canister, and plugging it on a bolt for an intercooler boot clamp.
I think it does pretty well. AFE includes this tube in its Stage II filter kit. The stock coregated hose seemed restrictive to me, so I replaced it with the AFE Turque Tube. Here is a pic of my Do-It-Yourself AFE intake for a fraction of the cost of a stage II kit. Since this is an older pic, it doesn't show my AFE pre-filter that I put on a few months ago.

This may be a dumb question " I'm new obviously" What will that do
Kris, Chris didn't tell you (cause he's too modest). but his truck is now standin a little taller (just 3.5 inches) and it looks great. Stopped by his house today, and Babe the Blue Mules tailgate top is now almost 5 feet in the air.
thats what i'm worried about i have another post going cause he has a boost relief valve on it and the gauge stops reading at 20 i'm not sure if it is making more boost than that (not sure where it is reading from )...so if i go and do that if it makes more i'm afraid of damaging the turbo but if it just makes it spool faster that wont hurt it
Well it won't help much for creating boost between 0-5-8psi. The wastegate canister is pretty weak, i've heard a few times that it opens as soon as 5 or so psi of boost is generated, which is way too soon. However the spring to close the wastegate is alot stronger. So, if you remove the air coming to the inlet side of the diaphragm, the wastegate will remain closed until the pressure built up in the exhaust side is enough to open (float), its just compressing that spring that is supposed to be holding it closed. When i got my new Turbonetics, i ran that way until i found all of my parts to hook up my stock wastegate system, and i had boost at 25psi, backpressure at 50. Once the wastegate was connected, the engine was breathing alot better, boost went up to 29-30, and the backpressure came down to 35ish or 40, not too sure.
So, Chris, how did you get that extra 3.5 inches you always wanted?
