Thumbs up installing 6X9 in my 1996 Explorer

Hi, I want to know how do I install my 6X9 in my Ford Explorer. Can I just take out the two in the rear doors and replace them with my pioneers.
Also, what size are the speakers that came with my Explorer.
This is my first time installing speakers into a SUV and I really appreciate your help.

Welcome to FTE thekid07:

Stock speaker size is 6x8. I would suggest using that over a 6x9 simply because they will bolt straight in and you won't have to modify the speaker opening in the door. If you do go to a 6x9, you will have to cut some of the metal out to have room for the speaker to sit in the hole.
