Not so sirius

Ok, I am sure this horse has been ran to death before, but in doing a search I tired at about level 25.

I have Sirius. I run into dead zones all around Las Vegas. Now when I drive out of town, my reception is perfect. Even in the mountians where I often escape to. Why is my signal compromised in Las Vegas? I am transfering to Reno, NV soon and my wife and I took a short trip up there with the truck and travel trailer. Not one interuption in service on the drive, or in Reno.

I am baffeled, but not dismayed, because soon I will be living in Reno, and sin city will have to kma!

I don't have a quick answer, it could be a ground station in or around LV is not functioning properly and Sirius doesn't know about it yet.

Sirius uses ground stations to fill in areas where obstructions such as 200 floor hotel/casinoes would block the view from the southern sky to subscriber antenna

Might go check out SiriusBackStage.com and ask there why the poor reception in LVNV.

There could be a few reasons...

Where is your Sirius antenna located?

Are you using the FM modulator or a direct cable connection?

If you are using the modulator, is there a broadcast station on that frequency in the LV area?
