Haha, troll. 11 posts, and you verbally abuse and then threaten a user with 1900 posts who's pointed out an obvious flaw to your original post?
if you can see i joined this site in april of 2003 11 posts ..seems the guru has alot of problems i am sure more than 1100
Is that like saying since I joined in August of '01 I'm somehow better than those who joined afterwards? Seniority has its perks I guess.
Of course, the guy's high post count could be because he posts here often and has lots of info to pass around, not necessarily that he has lots of problems.
Back on topic, it's possible the drive gear, not the speedo gear itself is damaged. Have you looked up inside the transmission tailhousing to see if there's physical damage there.
YOU left out a lot of information in your post, and SHO89 was just pointing it out so we could help you. Later you said it was a '97 F150. Well...Does it have the automatic or the manual transmission? Is it 4WD? What engine is in it?
These are the basic things we need to help. It was your fault...so DEAL with it!
My signature is in honor of Ron White. It follows every one of my posts and is a reflection of what I deal with in dealing with the public every day. As that general in Iraq said a few years back to members of the press, " Don't get stuck on stupid". As far as my post count, go read the last dozen or two. You'll see I don't waste time in NOT pointing out omissions, FAQs, and the like and you will see that I know what I'm talking about on a variety of technical issues. I'm not going to *****foot around just to keep from hurting yours (or anyone else's) precious feeling when you do something so blatantly and obviously...well, you know.
Back on topic: You still haven't provided enough detail for anyone to provide an accurate and concise assessment of the technical fault with your vehicle.
If you need technical assistance, allow yourself to be coached by providing relevent information. Barring that, you will need to hire a mechanic to diagnose and repair it.
Good luck!
