Just figured I should give credit where credit is due, since I know Andy is not vain enough to brag. Today Andy (andym) spent about 2 hours with me teaching me how to change my brake pads, rotors, and inner/outer wheel bearings. He saved me upwards of $300-$400 over contracting Les Schwab for the job. He really knows his stuff, I'm sure we all know that by now. And him and his girlfriend are SUPER nice to boot. Now feel free to be jealous that he moved near ME and not YOU!
Chris, click on that little scale icon in the upper right hand of any of Andy's posts--then click "I approve of this post" in the box that opens and type in a good comment for Andy. It's called "repping" or "giving rep" around here. I've noticed in this forum that not enough people do it. How do I know? Because many of the guys who help folks day in day out still only have one little green square in the upper right corner of their posts. More positive rep = more green squares.
You can go to your own "User CP" to see how much rep you have and the last 20 or so comments people have left for you.
Thanks Jason. I knew about the rep point system and I try to give people rep points when they really help someone out. I will definitely give Andy some points if he gets his butt on FTE and comments here
Chris is a really good kid... jeez, I wish I could be 19 again. And it was a pleasure to help out a fellow FTE'r.
His truck is really sweet too - I want one.
And most of the rep points I have are from the club FTE forum. I almost never get one in this forum, but I don't often remember to get them out to those that hang out in here and answer lots of tech questions, either.
