5.4 spuer duty?

5.4 spuer duty?

i have a 99 ford 150 xlt, not the lariet though. had scanner put on it and it said it was a 5.4 super duty engine. my friend also has a 99 and our oil filters are in a different location. mine is on the front of the engine drivers side mounted sideways his is under the truck behind the driver tire and mounts straight up. also i have 4 wheel disks and he doesnt. his a lariet. any thoughts?????

The oil filter is located in different locations on the 4X4 vs 4X2 models.

It's just a matter of a different oil filter adaptor having been installed onto the block at the factory based upon which drivetrain it was being installed into.

i understand what your saying but we both have 2 wheel drives. my 8th digit in the vin is an L which is the engine code. i dont know his code yet.

L is the standard letter for the 5.4L.
