carbon build up

Hi everyone, I was havin some problems with my check engine light coming on, after I pulled the codes it gave me a 332 "egr".

I had my boys take off the TB and the EGR valve, there is alot of carbon build up on the upper plenum, {which I'll have 'em remove it tommorow}. My question is once I have everything apart, what shoul I use to break up all that carbon build up in the plenum? And as for the TB should I just remove the carbon with a TB spray cleaner with the protector, or should remove the butterflies and soak them in something?

sorry for the long post, but any and all answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.

The same T/B cleaner you use on the T/B works on the manifold, EGR and IAC.

I was thinking more like gas or diesel, 'cause I would have to use up atleast a case of TB cleaner to get rid of all the carbon build up I have on the upper plenum. I am gonna use the TB cleaner on the TB and the EGR where i don't wanna soak those parts in solvent.

Thanx in advance,

Took me 2 cans to scrub the T/B, upper MF, as much of the lower as I could reach with a toothbrush, the IAC and EGR on my 96 300. YMMV
