1966 F100 300cid rookie
I am dying to learn about rebuilding or replacing the motor. Nothing fancy, just reliable. Most sites want a vin code, mine starts with F and I dont often see it listed. Another thing, its a 4X4 4spd and it sounds like its at 4000rpm at 60mph. I'm told its the stock tranny as well as motor. Can't help looking for 5th gear. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Post your VIN, and all the rest of the codes from your VIN plate, located on door face near the latch. Everything can be decoded. A 1966 F100 4WD with a 300 I-6 VIN starts off: F11B. F11 = F100 4X4; B = 300 1V.

It's unusual to see a Dana 60 Limited Slip in an F100 4X4. That may have been special ordered. What is the DSO code?
