Hood lock question

Hood lock question
My truck came with a hood lock from factory. Only thing left under the hood is the cable. I bought another one off ebay to replace it. How does it come apart to run though the firewall ?? Many thanks

If you have the complete setup/look where the cable goes into the under hood
latch/theres a cover that goes over the cable where it goes into the latch/unscrew the cover/its held on by 1 sm phillips screw/once you have the cover off/gently pull the plastic dust cap off (if its there)/then peel the looped cable of the round head on the latch(you can make some slack on the cable by pushing on the latches spring)Then after the cables of the hood latch snake it through the fire wall and reattach Good luck
