tranny noise???????
just put in a re man motor 4.2 in my 97 f 150 ticking noise from the tranny??? not the motor i did the rubber hose to motor and tranny it seems to be trans near where converter is ... ticking can be heared by the passenger side door,, shifts pretty well but the noise driving me nuts the over drive light is flashing to can this be related??? also put new speed sensor anddive for it works onlt when foot is on gas let off and speedo goes to zero now it seems to quit and work when it wants thanks pete

Definitely a control issue here...
I would double check all the harnesses you had to unplug to pull the motor, you may have missed one. Maybe get a haynes manual and start running down wiring schematics.
