no....why? because even if i was a billionaire, i would never give anyone $500 for a stupid fone.
i use a cell fone for 2 things, calling and sms, that is it, and even the sms is rare.
my wife's and mine cells were free with the company for signing up, that is all we need.
cell fones have become nothing more then a status for poor people to say "look! i have the same fone as rich people do!" because they can't afford the car, clothes and house that rich people have.
I won't get one because it's, well, Apple. I get tired of all their proprietary garbage, and I'm sure this phone is no different. Besides, I already shelled out quite a bit for a phone earlier this year that had a bunch of features I wanted. I got a Nokia N80 on eBay for ~$360--can't get it in the U.S. under contract. Other than being an excellent phone, it has voice-recognition dialing onboard (based on your contact info, not on previously recording a voice tag), I can play various music types (have a 2GB memory card in it), it has an FM radio and a 3 megapixel camera with a macro mode. These things are all useful to me as a contractor (tunes while I work, picture record of a job situation, voice dialling can be done while driving or otherwise busy).
The downside I see to the iPhone is that it is touchscreen only...you'll be forever cleaning that thing.
No I don't need all that I use my phone for two things talking and photos and since the camera part sucks on my phone(old LG L1200) mostly just for talking.I have been looking for a new phone for my wife and me since my contract ran out last July.I want a phone just like the one I got but with more mega pixs so I can get better pics of the fish I catch before I throw them back.
I don't want to rain on the iphone-bashing parade.......But......
Well.....It's not just a cell phone......It's also an ipod, your e-mail, and the internet......And various product critics invariably say it's easy to learn and the touchscreen pad is great......
Downsides that they've listed---No GPS (see that feature in a future model).......Also....since you can download oogles of your tunes onto the phone, you CANNOT pick one to use as your ringer (see THAT feature in a future model).
Still, for me...I NEVER join the "I've got to have one first" crowd.....Camping out in front of stores and other outlets is crazy to me........By the time I decide to buy one, maybe it'll be a bit cheaper and it'll have the GPS.......
I choose my cell phones based on whether it's small and slim enough to fit into my uniform shirt pocket......

I did get one! I have already sold it.
Here is why:
No raised buttons. Striking the keys on the slick screen was too difficult.
Requires ATT service only, and I have not had good luck with that service where I travel.
Was not compatable with my existing software for my existing PDA. (I use a PDA for calibration verification, and re-configuration of some instruments in my field of work).
Some sap offered me $1500.00 for it!
Guess the top reasons could have been tolerated, but when I was offered cold cash for this gadget......I am a dummy, but sometimes I have my brilliant moments...that was a no brainer!
I use a Palm 750 with verizon service. The PDA feature works well for my needs, and eliminates the need for an additional PDA, and addresses all of the above issues. The PAlm fits my wants, and needs.
I did a search on ebay and they are selling for $ 1,500.00 Crazy .
Part of the inexplicable hysteria....Camping out in front of stores to buy one.....and buying one for $1,500.00 on ebay?....Why?......You can get one for $500.00......Why would anyone pay $1,500.00?.........Did they run out?.....What a bunch of friggin' idiots!.......
No did not buy one….To much connectivity…I am trying to limit it….
I still have a one way pager, little thing...that is all I can have, but sometimes it is to much.
