Not sure what you mean by the question. If you want to know how to determine your bore and stroke from your displacement, well, you can't do that uniquely. Think of three things: bore, stroke, and displacement. If you know any two you can figure out the third.
The formula is:
1/4 X Bore X Bore x 3.14159 X Stroke X Number of cylinders == Engine displacement
So a 4 inch bore and 3 inch stroke and 8 cylinders would give you:
1/4 X 4 X 4 X 3.14159 X 3 X 8 == 302 cubic inches.
However, a 4.25 inch bore and a 2.66 inch stroke and 8 cylinders:
1/4 X 4.25 X 4.25 X 3.14159 X 2.66 X 8 == 302 cubic inches.
The only way to know bore and stroke is to measure it. Unless I misunderstood...Is that what you wanted to know?
